Sutton Building Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 31 134 942 233), trading as Sutton Building ("Sutton Building", "we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

We collect personal information you give us directly, through two parts of this website:

• The enquiry form at /contact/. Required fields: project type, budget range, name and phone number. Optional fields: email address, suburb of the project, when you would like to start, whether you have a block or house, and any notes you add. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-check that does not identify you personally. When you submit the form, our system also automatically records your IP address, general location (country), browser type and the page you submitted from, which we use to detect spam and abuse.
• The chat assistant, the message bubble available on every page. If you use it, the messages you type, and our assistant's replies, are sent to and stored by a system operated by our marketing partner, Increase Construction, to answer your questions and pass genuine enquiries on to our team. Those messages may be processed by a third-party AI model provider, which may be located overseas, in order to generate a reply. The chat assistant does not use cookies; it keeps a temporary reference to your conversation in your browser's session storage, which is automatically cleared when you close that browser tab.

We do not use cookies, advertising trackers or website analytics software on this site. We do not collect any personal information from you just by you browsing the site.

Why we collect it

We collect and use this information to respond to your enquiry, contact you about your project, provide a quote or proposal, and otherwise carry on our residential building business. We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we do not sell it.

How we store and secure it

Enquiry form submissions are stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare and are also emailed to our team through Cloudflare's own email service. Chat conversations are stored on infrastructure operated by Increase Construction on our behalf. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and we retain it only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law.

Disclosure, including overseas

We disclose personal information to the service providers who help us run this website and respond to enquiries: Cloudflare (form storage, bot protection and email delivery) and Increase Construction, our marketing partner (chat assistant, which in turn relies on a third-party AI model provider that may process your messages on servers located outside Australia). We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties, except where required by law, or with your consent.

Access and correction

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
